Process Facilitation
Whenever you have two or more people coming together,
you have a group. This group has come together either with no purpose
but to socialize, or for a specific purpose or task. When a task group
is formed, each member wants to make a contribution and wants to gain
something from participation. The benefits for each participant are maximized
when the meeting is structured. I refer to this structure as group
process facilitation. What I consider to be the best structure is the
one that is egalitarian and provides safety; the contributions of each
participant are valued equally and the use of time is agreed upon so that
everyone gets what they need. That way each individual's joy and
satisfaction are maximized.
Problem Solving
Groups
These groups are ongoing and require
a monthly commitment and weekly meetings. This is an educational
process that is empowering, not therapy.
